Dinner on Friday

Mai4 pian4 xia1 round 2. Does it look better than the first time? I kinda burnt the mai4 pian4 a little cos I was washing rice at the same time. But it became more crispy and fragrant as a result. And the prawns! Boy were they fat and juicy. To see what they looked like before being fried, read on...


The monsters from the deep. These crazy oceanic shrimp have legs with 4 segments, the last of which is a claw/pincer. Gosh! And the blue spiky parts... Sorry they're decapitated. Their bodies are in the picture above. I kept the heads to make stock :p


Check out the leg and tell me whether there is something seriously wrong with this prawn. Scary.

Here's Nick's wok. Recently I kept stealing it from his apartment upstairs to cook (I would have stolen it more often if I knew about it earlier). So he decided to give it to me as our parting gift. And he said "sorry I couldn't give you anything cooler". But really, I wanted a wok! Just that its a bit too late in the quarter to do much with it. Anyhow, Thanks Nick! You're the best.
