Pickle Parteeeee

We had our second Pickle Party today! What is a Pickle Party, you ask? Its basically a chance for the hotel staff to get together and they give out prizes in a raffle and display the good comments that we get from guests. The last Pickle Party was bad cos I got scolded by a nasty guy and that ruined my day. But today's was fun because it was picture taking time! Tra la la~

Food-wise, there were chicken wings in some weird spicy sauce, meatballs in another strange sauce, pot stickers (not very Asian), fruits, soda, fruit punch and brownies with ice-cream :D I heard someone say "these potstickers are good!" and I was thinking wait till they eat the real thing, like 韭菜水饺 or 小笼包 from Crystal Jade. -drool-

Fruits were good though. They had huge Rainier cherries. Heaven.

Here are some of the people I work with:

From L to R (back row): Kamelya (Bulgaria), Xiaoqian (Singapore), Donna (Hawaii), Debbie (US), Tess (Phillipines), Joanne (Singapore), Felicia (Dominican Republic), Victoria (Mexico), Michelle (US)

Front row: Shanyan (Singapore), me!

In this picture, only Kamelya and us 4 girls from Singapore are summer hire. The rest are living here in Alaska. Debbie Higbee is the general manager. Quite a nice person.

While waiting for the arrival of the food.

Me, Donna and Tess. I actually wanted to take a picture with Donna only but Tess wormed her way in despite Donna's elbowing :p Donna is a very, very nice person.

This here is my dearest, dearest trainer Lydia. She's so nice to me! Gives me hugs :) My surrogate mama in the absence of my own. She asked me not to go home and said she'll miss me -sniff- I'll always remember drinking Chinese tea with her. A Mexican and a Singaporean, who met in Alaska and were drinking Chinese tea, of all things. Bizarre but true!

The girls who chose to spend their summer away from home :)

Shanyan and me in the jacket I won. That's two of us in one jacket!

Conjoined twins!

Singaporeans unite! My housemates: Joanne, me, XQ, Shanyan

With Victoria. She looks so comical with her hair down. She also makes fresh orange/lime juice everyday and brings it to work. Yummy!

Yay! ... Although seriously, cleaning rooms isn't the most glamorous job. But I guess you all knew that already!

With Amor and Marc. I love the bellmen! Amor helped me get a hotel rate on a rental car when I went for my trip. Marc helped us move house in his huge and super snazzy truck and treats us to chicken wings from time to time. Seeing him brightens up my day :) We have another good friend Wilson, but he wasn't working today. Photos with him another time, as well as with our friends from the maintenance department. Stay tuned!
